Project Description

The Last ‘Flying’ Comet
The Last ‘Flying’ Comet. The story of one man’s passion to restore the cockpit of one of the last remaining De Havilland Comets to full flight simulator status. The video shows the amazing detail that has gone into the restoration of this historic and iconic British airliner. Now anyone who ‘climbs aboard’ this simulator can get a taste of what it was like to fly in the pioneering days of the early jet age. The De Havilland Comet was the first jet airliner to fly anywhere in the world and this example once held pride of place in the British Overseas Airways fleet. Had it not been for the restoration work undertaken this valuable piece of history would have been lost forever.
